During the presentation of the fiscal budget of West Bengal State, the Finance Minister launched the West Bengal Samudra Sathi scheme. All the fishermen in West Bengal State will get financial assistance for a total of 2 months when fishing is banned in the West Bengal State. With the help of financial assistance, the fishermen can survive the ben period without worrying about financial troubles. Under this scheme, registered fishermen will receive an amount of rupees 5000 per month for 2 months during the fishing ban period i.e. a total amount of rupees 10000 will be provided for 2 months as financial assistance by the government.
