Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme are as given below:

  • The total family income should be less than Rs. 10,000 every month in villages and less than Rs. 12,000 in cities for getting this help.
  • It is needed that at least one person in the family must have a rice card for being eligible.
  • The land owned by the family must be less than 3 acres of wetland or less than 10 acres of dry land or together both should be less than 10 acres.
  • If anyone in the family owns a four-wheeler like a car, then help will not be given but if it is a taxi, tractor or auto then it is allowed.
  • The electricity bill of the family should be less than 300 units every month and the average of 12 months will be checked.
  • Any big house of 1000 square feet or more owned by a family means they will not get this help.
  • If anyone in the family has a government job or pension, then they are not allowed but sanitation workers and those earning less than Rs. 10,000 in villages and Rs. 12,000 in cities are allowed.
  • If someone in the family is paying income tax, then they cannot get this benefit.
  • The name of the mother or guardian must be present in the state’s household database, and if not, then checking will be done by officers to confirm.
  • The children must be studying in Classes 1 to 12 in government, private, aided, unaided or residential schools or junior colleges in Andhra Pradesh to get this help.
  • Students who are studying in ITI, Polytechnic or IIIT cannot get this scheme because they get fee reimbursement.
  • Orphans and street children studying in schools are allowed but only if the department confirms them.
  • The mother’s bank account must be linked with Aadhaar because money will be sent only through that.
  • Students should have 75% attendance, if not then help will not be given for next year.
  • Children who are newly joining in Class 1 or Class 11 will get this help after their admission is completed.
