A new scheme called Tamil Nadu Vetri Nichayam Scheme was started by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin during the third birthday of Naan Mudhalvan scheme and it was made for helping young people without jobs. People aged from 18 to 35 years were allowed to join this scheme and free short-term skill training will be given to them. An amount of Rs. 100 crore was kept for the first phase and around 75,000 youth will be trained in one year. More than 500 training centres were selected and 165 different courses will be taught across 38 job fields. Also, incentives up to Rs. 12,000 will be given to youth from tribal, disabled, minority, fishermen, and Sri Lankan Tamil families. A mobile app called Skill Wallet was also made and through this app, course and job details can be seen by students easily.

Motive of Vetri Nichayam Scheme

The motive of Vetri Nichayam scheme is to help poor and backward youth get trained for good jobs and better life. All training fees will be paid by the government, so no money will be asked from students. Special care is given to disabled persons, tribal youth, Sri Lankan Tamils, people from fishing families, and minorities. Youngsters living in houses made by Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Board and children of sanitary workers are also added. Youth whose families get help from other schemes will also be found and trained. This was done to give everyone a fair chance.

  • The person must be staying in Tamil Nadu and should be a permanent resident of the state.
  • The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 35 years only, and anyone below or above this age will not be allowed.
  • The person should not have any job at present and must be unemployed.
  • School or college studies must be finished before joining this training, and no current students will be allowed.
  • Around 75,000 youngsters will be trained in the first step of the scheme.

  • Step 3: You will be taken to another page, here you have to enter your mobile number (which is currently working) and then click on “Get OTP” button.
  • Step 4: You will now receive the OTP on your given mobile number, enter this OTP in the given space and click on “Submit” button to proceed further.
  • Step 5: Now login to the portal using your registered mobile number and then open up the application form to move ahead with the next step.
  • Step 6: Fill out the application form carefully and attach the relevant documents as are requested in the form.
  • Step 7: Review the application form carefully before submitting it, and when you have verified the application form carefully, Submit it to complete the application process.
