Sikkim Old Pension Scheme 2024 was launched by the Sikkim state government. On 9th February 2024, the Chief Minister of Sikkim state Prem Singh Tamang announced the launch of Sikkim old pension 2024. The Sikkim state government has decided to restore the old pension system for government employees appointed on or after April 1, 2006, under the provision of Sikkim services (pension) rules 1990, as applicable to the employees appointed on or before 31.03.2006. By implementing this decision Sikkim state becomes the first not eastern state of India to announce the launch of the old pension scheme 2024.

By reviving the Old Pension Sikkim became the first northeastern state to implement the scheme.
