About Rs 707.55 Cr Released Under Rythu Bharosa
The Andhra Pradesh government has begun the disbursement of Rs. 707.55 crore under the third tranche of the Rythu Bharosa scheme for the Rabi season. This support will reach over 8.66 lakh farmers, covering a total landholding of more than 11.79 lakh acres. Farmers with landholding between one and two acres will benefit from this tranche. When combined with the previous two disbursements, the total amount released under Rythu Bharosa now exceeds Rs. 1,834 crore, supporting over 30.11 lakh farmers with a collective landholding of approximately 30.57 lakh acres.
The first tranche in January released Rs. 569 Crore for 4.42 lakh farmers, while the second tranche disbursed Rs. 557.54 crore for 17.03 lakh farmers with landholdings below one acre. Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao highlighted the Congress government’s total expenditure of Rs. 55,256 Crore for farmers’ welfare, including Rs. 40,000 crore for crop loan waivers and other support, while criticizing interest burdens imposed by previous loan waivers.
