On the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Puja, the CM of our Country Mr. Narendra Modi has launched the PM Vishwakarma Scheme for all the Vishwakarma of our country. The main motive of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme is to give an identity or financial support to all the traditional artists or craftsmen who stayed unrecognized for many years. For this PM Vishwakarma Scheme, Rs. 13,000 crore has been assigned to equip craftsmen with the technological tools to improve their abilities for the contemporary market. The craftsmen or artists who registered under the scheme will be able to apply for financial loans up to Rs. 3 lakh with a very low interest rate. PM Modi announced the launch of the Vishwakarma Scheme from the India International Convention and Expo Centre, in Dwarka. This scheme will be a great initiative for all the Vishwakarmas who are highly talented but remain unbenefitted.
What is the PM Vishwakarma Scheme
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme has been launched by PM Narendra Modi for all the Indian traditional craftsmen and artists. Through, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme craftsmen or artists will apply for financial loans up to Rs. 3 lakh. Under the 1st tranche, the Rs. 1 lakh loan will be sectioned and must be repaid in 18 months. After that candidates may apply for 2nd tranche in which they will get Rs. 2 lakh loan, which will be repaid in 30 months. The beneficiary will be required to pay interest at a reduced rate of 5%, with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises covering up to 8% of the cost. The people who can apply for the scheme are blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, carpenters, sculptors, artisans, mensons, etc. Through the implementation of the scheme, PM Modi gave the message to all the citizens to promote the purchase of local products.
