Launched MLA-LAD Web Portal
Recently, the chief minister of Odisha state, Mr Charan Mohan Manji, has launched the MLA-LAD Web Portal. The launch ceremony of the web portal was accompanied by the Chief Minister, along with other ministers and senior officers of the Odisha state. The launch ceremony takes place at Bhubaneswar in the Lok Seva Bhawan. The portal was introduced by the Chief Minister to simplify the development in Odisha state and allow the legislators to work on the ground level to showcase the areas where development is much needed. The budget under the MLA-LAD scheme was enhanced by the Odisha State Government, and for the fiscal year 2025-26, the budget is inr 5 crore.

Objective
The main objective of launching the web portal is to allow the legislatures of Odisha state to have the power to track works and identify the areas where development is required. The Development Commissioner Anu Garg provides and detailed explanation to all the ministers present at the launch ceremony of the portal and gives an overview of the guidelines. The guidelines were prepared by the Odisha state government under the guidance of the Chief Secretary and the Development Commissioner, and allow the legislators to work independently on their designated areas.

- The amount provided under the scheme is released in the form of a grant-in-aid for utilisation by Zila Parishads. Under this scheme, the entire cost of a project would be met out of the scheme’s fund.
- The scheme fund is remitted in favour of the concerned Jila Parishad of the district, according to the number of MLAs in a district, in the form of a grant-in-aid.
