The Maharashtra state government has launched the Maharashtra Palna Scheme (Anganwadi Cum Creche) 2025. To offer assistance to working women of Maharashtra state by taking care of their children, the Maharashtra state government has introduced the scheme. Under this initiative, the Maharashtra state government will build daycares across different parts of the state to take care of the children of working women. There are a total of 25 children who can be admitted to a day care at one time and will be supervised by a supervisor and an assistant who will be employed by the state government.

Objective of Maharashtra Palna Scheme

The main objective of launching the scheme is to relieve the burden of taking care of the child among working women. This initiative is aimed at reducing the workload of working women and allowing them to do their work while the state government takes care of their children. Under the first phase of the scheme, a total of 345 Day Care which are called Palna centers, will be set up by the state government. The scheme will offer various facilities for the children who are between the age group of 6 months to 6 years. The centres will take care of all the essential needs of the children’s including breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks.

Benefits 

  • The scheme will offer relief to working women of Maharashtra state by offering daycare facilities. 
  • The children will be supervised by the workers of the daycare who are carefully employed by the government. 
  • The mothers did not have to worry about the food of the children because the centres will also offer breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks. 
  • Supplementary nutrition and health checkups will also be given to the children at the Palna centre.

Salient Features 

  • Food facilities: The children will get a nutritional breakfast, lunch and evening snacks that include egg, milk and banana. 
  • First phase: Under the first phase of the scheme, the third is will open a total of 345 Palna centres. 
  • Budget contribution: The contribution of the budget under the scheme will be given in the ratio of 60:40 between the centre and the state government.
  • Operational information: The Palna centre will open for 7.5 hours per day for a total of 26 days a month.
