Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme Amount Revised in Budget 2024

The Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme has been launched by the government of West Bengal. Under the scheme, any woman who has attained 25 years of age can apply for monthly financial assistance. In Budget 2024 the West Bengal government has revised the financial assistance under Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme. Now the general category women will get Rs 1000 monthly and the SC/ ST Category women will get Rs 1200 monthly before it was Rs 500 for the general category and Rs 1000 for SC/ST Category women. All those citizens who want to take benefit of this scheme can submit their application through both online and offline mode. The government will benefit around 2 crore women under this scheme.

Objective Of Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

There are a lot of objectives that will be fulfilled through the development of the West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar scheme because it is one of the most important schemes which is presented by the West Bengal government to help the female residents of the state. Proper financial support will be available to all of the female residents irrespective of their caste and category. 1.6 crore households will be benefited through the development of the system. The Monetary Fund will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries and all of the households that belong to the category of scheduled Caste and scheduled tribe can apply for this scheme through the official website or by visiting the CS center. The main objective of the development of the scheme is to provide support to female residents.

Benefits Of Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

The following benefits will be available to the residents of the West Bengal State through the development of this scheme:-

• The government will be giving a monthly allowance of Rupees 1000 to the poor family.
• The families belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe will get a monthly allowance of Rupees 1200

Implementation Of Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

To implement the scheme successfully the West Bengal government has taken the monthly average expenditure for the consumption of a family to Rupees 5249. The West Bengal government has to take into account an annual expenditure of Rs 11000 crores for the successful implementation of the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme. The eligible women of the state have started to get financial assistance. The applicants need to submit their bank account passbook and order details to be eligible for the scheme from the date of the implementation. 

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to be eligible for the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme:-

• The applicant must be a citizen of West Bengal
• All the families of SC and ST categories can apply under this scheme
• For the general category, those families who have at least one tax-paying member cannot apply under this scheme
• Those general category citizens who have more than 2 hectares of land cannot apply under this scheme

Required Documents

The applicant must submit the following documents while applying for the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme:-

• Aadhar card
• Caste certificate
• Ration card
• Residential certificate
• Age proof
• Bank account details
• Passport size photograph
• Mobile number

Offline Application Procedure

• Those residents who are living in rural areas can visit their nearest video office to fill out the application form
• Those beneficiaries who are living in urban areas can visit the SDO office to submit the form
• The residents of Kolkata can visit the Kolkata municipal corporation to apply under the scheme
• Applicants can also submit their application for this scheme through the Dware Sarkar camp
• To submit the application beneficiaries will be requested to ask for an application form
• After that beneficiaries are required to fill out this application form
• Now all the required documents have to be attached to the application form
• After that, this form is required to be submitted in the same office where the beneficiary has obtained it
• By following this procedure beneficiaries can apply offline under the scheme
