Overview of the Karasamadhana Scheme
In the budget speech for the year 2023-24 the Government of Karnataka has announced the Karasamadhana Scheme. Under this scheme, the government will expedite to resolution of GST legacy tax disputes and collect arrears from taxpayers without litigation. A 100% waiver of penalty and interest payable to those who make full payment of arrears of tax before 31st December 2023 will be provided. This scheme has been launched to motivate citizens to clear their taxes. To avail the benefit of the scheme the balance of the tax amount must be paid within 15 days from the date of receipt of the information on or before January 15th, 2024. If any partial amount is still outstanding as arrears on the specified date then the applicant becomes ineligible to avail of the benefit of this scheme
