Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme are as follows:

- If any person pays professional tax and earns more than Rs. 2.5 lakh per year, then they are also not taken.
- If anyone works in the state or central government, in banks, in boards, in a cooperative society, or is retired from them, then they are not accepted.
- If the person is an elected leader like Man P, MLA, or panchayat head (but not a ward member), then it will be rejected.
- If someone owns a car, jeep, tractor, or big vehicle for self-use, then they are not allowed.
- Business persons who earn above Rs. 50 lakh yearly and pay GST also can’t apply.
- Families who already get a pension, like old age or widow, or an unorganised worker pension from the government, are not included.

- The benefit of the Kalaignar Mahila Riti Yojana can be applied for only by the head of each eligible family.
- The woman whose name is shown as the head in the family card will be accepted as the family head for this scheme.
- When the family card shows a male as the head, his wife will be taken as the head of the family instead.
- If the wife’s name is missing in the family card for some reason, then another woman from the family will be chosen as the head. When there is more than one woman above 21 years, the family members can select one among them to apply for the benefit.
