Objective of J&K Karkhandar Scheme
The main objective of launching the scheme is to preserve the culture of creating handcrafted products in the Jammu and Kashmir union territory. This scheme is a great initiative by the authorities to promote the rich artisanal heritage of the region. The scheme was first introduced by the authorities in 2021, and since then, it has been helping the citizens who are involved in handcrafted work. For the smooth implementation of the scheme, the authorities have released an amount of INR 33.34 lakh. The scheme will save the culture of Jammu and Kashmir and the art of making walnut wood carving, silver filigree, carpet weaving, Kani shawl weaving, Khatamband, papier-mâché, and others like Sozni, tapestry, and engraved copperware.
