About Inter Caste Marriage Scheme

The Inter Caste Marriage Scheme was started by the Haryana government and it is being run by the Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes Department to help in promoting inter-caste marriages. It was made so that people stop thinking too much about caste and live together with peace. This scheme is from 1st April 1983 and is still going. When a boy or girl who is not from Scheduled Caste marries a boy or girl from Scheduled Caste, then money is given to them. Rs. 2,50,000 is sent to their joint bank account and it is locked for 3 years. The money is given as help and it is shared half-half by the state and central government.

The eligibility criteria for the Inter Caste Marriage Scheme are as follows:

  • Both husband and wife should be Indian citizens.
  • One person should be from Scheduled Caste, and the other should not be.
  • The person who is taking the help must live in Haryana forever.
  • He or she should not have taken money from any other same type scheme.
  • The couple must apply within 3 years after they got married.

Financial Benefits

The financial benefits under the scheme is explained below:

  • A total of Rs. 2,50,000 is given when a non-Scheduled Caste person marries a Scheduled Caste person.
  • Rs. 1,25,000 will be transferred to the couple’s joint account right after the marriage.
  • The remaining Rs. 1,25,000 will be put in a fixed deposit for 3 years.
  • The money in the fixed deposit cannot be taken out before the 3 years end.
  • The couple will receive the full amount only after 3 years if no early withdrawal is done.

  • Step 3: Click on “New User” under the section that says “Sign In Here” and then fill your name, email ID, mobile number, password, and select your state from the list, then click on the “Submit” button.

  • Step 8: Search the name of “Inter Caste Marriage Scheme” and when it comes, click on it to open the application form.
  • Step 9: Type your Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) number carefully and then click on “Click here to Fetch Family Data” which will show you the names of your family members.
  • Step 10: From the list, select the name of the person who is applying and enter the OTP which will be sent on their mobile, then click on “Click to Verify” button.
