The Telangana government’s main economic development issue is eliminating poverty. Indigenous people who are members of landless tribal tribes are at the very bottom of Indian society. The Government of Telangana has chosen to implement the Girijan Bandhu scheme in response to the severe injustice that has been done to these landless tribal tribes (ST category) over the course of generations. This is a ground-breaking action that will significantly advance the tribal community’s economic development. The Girijan Bandhu project will pay Rs. 10 lakh for the upliftment of Adivasis per landless Scheduled Tribe (ST) family. Applicants must complete the Girijana Bandhu Scheme Telangana 2024 Registration / Application Form in order to apply for this. To learn how to apply online for the Girijan Bandhu Yojana in the state of TS, read this article through to the end.
About Girijana Bandhu Scheme Telangana 2024
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao stated in the Assembly on Friday that the BR’s administration would begin distributing pattas for the 11.5 lakh acres of podu land, putting an end to the long-running podu lands problem. The Scheduled Tribes will also be a part of the “Girijan Bandhu” programme, but only those who are “landless” will be eligible for the benefits. The CM also told the Assembly that Rythu Bandhu, power, and irrigation facilities would be made available to beneficiaries of podu lands. The state government surveyed podu property and discovered that tribal people and others owned approximately 11.5 lakh acres of forest land that they were cultivating. The CM made it clear, though, that pattas would only be distributed to the recipients after village committees, ZPTCs, sarpanches, and local tribal leaders of the respective areas provided the government with a written guarantee

The objective of Girijana Bandhu Scheme Telangana
As part of a multi-pronged approach, a different strategy with a new initiative “Telangana Girijana Bandhu Scheme” is introduced to intensify the level of financial assistance to landless tribal communities for the establishment of suitable income-generating economic support schemes, as the delivery of credit by banks in the form of loans has become a constraint. All families belonging to the landless tribal community receive a one-time capital assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs per family as a 100% grant/subsidy to establish suitable income-generating schemes of their choice (without bank loan linkage).
Features of Girijana Bandhu Scheme Telangana
The following are some of the most important key points of the Girijana Bandhu Scheme Telangana:
- It is important to recognize that receiving pattas for podu lands is not their right.
- They must understand that they are trespassers and that pattas will only be granted for humanitarian reasons.
- Beneficiaries of podu lands will receive pattas for the last and final time in the state.
- This is for humanitarian reasons rather than to influence voters or win elections.
- The government will no longer tolerate even minor encroachment on forest lands. To prevent encroachment, the government would establish forest land boundaries and assign armed guards.
- The recipients will also be asked to serve as forest guardians, and a formal pledge will serve as the foundation for this record.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Girijan Bandhu programme will also benefit Scheduled Tribes, but only those who are landless will be eligible.
- The CM also informed the Assembly that Rythu Bandhu, power, and irrigation facilities would be available to podu land beneficiaries.
