The Chandigarh Housing Board is finally going to launch its long-pending General Housing Scheme in Sector 53 in the second week of September after many years of delay and confusion. And this project will have 492 flats on 8.98 acres with buildings up to five storeys. This will be the first scheme in almost a decade because the last scheme was launched in Sector 51 in 2016, and now the brochure has been made ready with newly revised collector rates. The prices are fixed very high, as a 3BHK flat will cost about Rs. 2.30 crore, a 2BHK flat Rs. 1.97 crore and an EWS flat, Rs. 74 lakh, while earlier during the survey, the costs were Rs. 1.65 crore, Rs. 1.40 crore and Rs. 55 lakh. Environmental clearance was already taken and later renewed by paying Rs. 5 lakh, so pricing had been the last hurdle for this scheme.

About Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB)
