The Government of India announced the cervical cancer vaccination in budget 2024. The finance minister of India Mrs Nirmala Sitaraman announced the government will focus on providing cervical cancer vaccination during the presentation of the Union budget 2024. The cervical cancer vaccination scheme is available for all the female citizens of the country between the age group of 9 to 14 years. With the help of the cervical cancer vaccination scheme, the government will reduce the number of Cancer patients in the countries significantly. The Government of India will set up committees in the medical colleges of India for the cervical cancer vaccination.
About Cervical Cancer Vaccination Scheme
In the Union Budget 2024, the Government of India announced the launch of a Cervical Cancer Vaccination Scheme. All the female citizens of the country who are between the age group of 9 to 14 years are eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme. With the help of the cervical cancer vaccination program, the government will decrease the number of cancer patients in India significantly. The government will set up committees in the medical colleges for this scheme. Presently, the Serum Institute’s made-in-India vaccine against cervical cancer, CERVAVAC, is available in the private market for about Rs 2,000 per dose.

The main objective of the Cervical Cancer Vaccination Scheme is to save the girl child from the dangerous disease of cancer. With the help of this vaccination, the Government of India can reduce the number of cervical cancer cases. Cervical Cancer develops in the cervical of a woman which is the second most common cancer in India. To reduce the number of cervical cancer the Government of India introduced a cervical cancer vaccination. All the female citizens of India who are between the age group of 9 to 14 years are eligible to avail the benefits of the cervical cancer vaccination.
