About Ayushman Bharat Yojana
Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a flagship program of the government of India. The scheme was launched as per the recommendation by the National Health Policy 2017 to achieve the vision of universal health coverage. This scheme is for the economically weaker section of society. The scheme adopts a continuum care approach. There are two interrelated components under this scheme:

Health And Wellness Centres
In 2018, the Government of India announced the creation of 150000 health and wellness Care centers in February. To do so the government is going to transform the existing sub-centers and primary health care centers. These centers cover both maternal and child health care services for people and non-communicable diseases including free essential drugs and diagnostic services.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana was launched in September 2018 by the honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ranchi Jharkhand. This scheme is the largest health assurance scheme that aims to provide health coverage. This scheme was earlier known as the National Health Protection Scheme. This program is beneficial for a round 50 crore citizens in India. Under this scheme, the government has started to issue e-cards to the citizens who are eligible to get the benefits of the scheme to make secondary and tertiary healthcare completely cashless for the under-privilege section of society. As of September 2019 under this scheme around 18059 hospitals were impanelled along with 4406461 beneficiaries were admitted and over 10 crore e-cards were issued to the people.

Objective Of Ayushman Bharat Yojana
Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been started to help the poor people of the society who need healthcare facilities. Moreover to make path-breaking intrusions to holistically address the health care system at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
Key features of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana
- It is a 100% government-funded scheme.
- The scheme provides cover of rupees 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.
- Under the scheme over 10.74 crores of poor and vulnerable entitled the family will be benefited
- This scheme covers up to 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days of post-hospitalization expenses which include diagnostics and medicines
- An E-card is issued to the beneficiaries for cashless access to healthcare services.
- No restriction on the size of the family, age of the people in the family, and gender
- Medical facilities include approximately 1393 procedures covering all the costs related to the treatment including drugs, supplies, diagnostic services, physician fees, room charges, surgeon charges, OT and ICU charges, etc.

Benefits Of Ayushman Bharat Yojana
- Beneficiaries will get an annual cover of INR 30000 to INR 3 lakh per family across various States.
- Beneficiaries can take the cashless cover of up to INR 5 lakh to each eligible family per annum for listed secondary and tertiary care conditions
- The scheme covers the following expenses incurred related to the treatment:
- medical examination treatment and consultation
- Pre hospitalization
- Medicine and medical consumables
- Nonintensive and intensive Care services
- Diagnostic and laboratory investigations

Ayushman Bharat Yojana Implementation
For the successful implementation of the scheme, various states are using different models. Some of them are using the service of insurance companies while others are directly implementing the schemes. For the implementation, there are three models that the state can use the assurance/trust model, insurance model, or mixed model.
- The assurance model is the most common method adopted by the states. In this model, the scheme is directly implemented by the SHA without the intermediation of the insurance company. This model is used by the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, etc.
- The insurance model is the model in which the state is going to select insurance companies by inviting tenders from them to manage the implementation of PMJAY. This model is used by the government of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, etc.
- The mixed model is the model in which both the assurance trust and insurance model are adopted by s h A with the aim of being more economically efficient providing flexibility and allowing coverage with the schemes of the state.

Register for Ayushman Bharat Yojana Online
- You have to go to the Ayushman Bharat website of the PMJAY
- From the home page of the portal, you have to click on the “AM I eligible” option
- A new page will open on the computer screen where you have to enter your mobile number and captcha code
- Press generate OTP option given next to the blanks
- Enter the OTP in the given space
- Submit the OTP and if your family is cover under the scheme then your name will appear on the screen
Find Hospital List
- To find a hospital you have to visit the official website of PMJAY
- From the home page of the portal, you have to go to the menu option given in the top left corner of the website
- Click on it and go to the hospital section
- Choose the find hospital option or directly click the find hospital option available in the top of the page or click here
- A new page will open on the screen
- On the open page, you have to select state district hospital type specialty hospital name, and empanelment type
- Enter the capture code and hit the search button
- The information you are looking for will open on the screen
Submit Grievance
- To submit the grievance, you have to visit the official website of the PMJAY
- From the home page of the portal, you have to select the grievance portal from the top right corner
- A new web page will open on the screen from where you have to select register your grievance option
- Now you have to select the scheme for grievance registration
- Hit the register option and the application form will open on the screen

- A pop-up window will open on the screen where you have to enter your UGN number generated during the submission of the grievance application
- Press “submit” button and your grievance status will appear on the screen
Process To Download Ayushman Card
- To download you have to go to the official website of PMJAY
- From the home page of the portal, you have to go to the menu
- You have to choose Beneficiary identification system (BIS) from the list that appears on the screen
- A new web portal will open on the computer screen
- Now you have to choose to download Ayushman card option
- Select Aadhar and enter the details asked on the screen
- Select your state and mention your Aadhaar number
- Take the checkbox and hit generate OTP option
- Enter the OTP in the given space and verify yourself
- Your Ayushman card will show on the screen
- Hit the download link and save it for future
Procedure To Download PMJAY Mobile Application
- To download the mobile application, you have to open the Google Play Store on your phone
- Search the PMJAY by entering in the search bar of the Play Store

- Press Install button and let the application download and install on your phone
Procedure To Check Your Name In The List
- To check your eligibility, you have to go to the official website of the PMJAY
- From home page of the portal, you have to click on “AM I eligible” option
- A new page will open on the computer screen where you have to enter your mobile number and captcha code
- Press generate OTP option given next to the blanks
- Enter the OTP in the given space
- After login check the eligibility of your family in the scheme by following the screen
- Choose your state and then three categories will open on the screen
- Choose one of them and provide the information as needed
- Submit the information and you will get the information on the screen
